Forged Brush Painting Competition 2025
The Forged Brush is more than just a painting competition—it's where the Kill Team community comes to show what the hobby is capable of. Whether you’re just picking up a brush or have years of experience, this is your chance to put your work on display, earn recognition from fellow painters, and compete for trophies, Finalist Pins, and the legendary Forged Anvil—an actual, full-sized anvil awarded to the best entry in show.
Every entry matters. Every detail counts. And whether you walk away with a medal or a memory, the Forged Brush is your place to be seen, be inspired, and be part of something built by painters, for painters. Registration Deadline: All entries must be registered by 12:00 PM (local time) on June 21, 2025.

Kill Team Single Model
This category is for any single Kill Team model, mounted on an appropriately sized base.

Kill Team
This category is for a full, legal Kill Team, consisting of five to twenty models. The team may include models from a complete roster and can be displayed on an appropriately sized base or scenic display.

Diorama
This category is for narrative scenes set within the Kill Team universe. The subject matter must be thematically appropriate, but otherwise there are no restrictions on the story or composition. Dioramas must be mounted on a stable base and may incorporate terrain, multiple models, or custom displays. Maximum size: 12” x 12” or 11” x 15”

Duel
This category features a dramatic encounter between two opposing Kill Team miniatures. The focus is on tension, interaction, and dynamic posing. Entries must be mounted on an appropriately sized base or display and should capture a clear moment of conflict or narrative tension.

Converted
This category is for converted or custom-built Kill Team models. Entries may include kitbashes, hand-sculpted parts, and 3D-printed components. The work must remain thematically grounded in Kill Team and represent legal models. All 3D-printed parts must be sculpted by the entrant. Models using scanned assets or unmodified downloaded files are not permitted

Youngbloods
Youngbloods is a dedicated category for competitors aged 15 or younger on the day of entry. Submissions may be any single miniature, mounted on an appropriately sized base. This is a standalone contest that runs alongside the main Forged Brush categories. As such, entries in Youngbloods are not eligible for the Forged Anvil.

Open – Sci-Fi
This category is open to any science fiction-themed entry that doesn’t fit into the main Forged Brush categories. Eligible submissions include single miniatures, busts, vehicles, dioramas, larger-scale figures, small armies, or themed collections. All entries must be mounted on an appropriately sized base or display. Open – Sci-Fi is a separate contest from the main Forged Brush categories and is not eligible for the Forged Anvil.

Open – Fantasy
This category covers all fantasy-themed entries outside the scope of the main Kill Team categories. Accepted formats include single miniatures, busts, vehicles, dioramas, large-scale pieces, small armies, and collections. All entries must be mounted on an appropriately sized base or display. Open – Fantasy runs as a standalone competition and is not eligible for the Forged Anvil.
